Beijing, 9 Nov (Xinhua) -- The reporter learned on 9 November that the Tariff Commission of the State Council recently issued an announcement deciding that, in accordance with the "Announcement of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on Granting Zero Tariff Treatment to 98% of the Products of the Least Developed Countries and the Governments of Relevant Countries", in accordance with the provisions of the exchange of letters between the Chinese government and the governments of relevant countries, starting from December 1, 2022, the tariff commission of the State Council issued an announcement and decided to grant zero tariff treatment to products originating in Afghanistan, the Republic of Benin, Burkina Faso, the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Republic of Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, Tariff zero is applied to 98 per cent of tariff lines in 10 LDCs, including the United Republic of Tanzania, the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of Zambia. In the future, China will continue to gradually grant zero tariff treatment to 98 per cent of tariff lines from all least developed countries that have diplomatic relations with China in accordance with the progress of the exchange of letters.
